Immanuel Baptist Church began in 1973 through the efforts of several area families who saw the need for an independent Baptist work with a strong Bible emphasis. This group soon came under the auspices of the Delmarva Fellowship of Baptist Churches, a fellowship of independent Baptist churches, most of whom were of the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. In a short time, these families were able to rent a suitable building on Route 218 in Stafford County, and called Brother Tom Fuller as their pastor. Pastor Fuller toiled diligently in the work as a missionary pastor, while maintaining a full time position at Sears to support his family. |
